The application allows you to message other Nokia users and even users of Ovi Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and Myspace IM – and in true Nokia style, it comes totally free of charge for existing and new Nokia phone users.
Nokia IM will be competing with the likes of Apple’s new iMessage and Blackberry’s old and boring BBM, aka Blackberry Messenger. Rather than have numerous different instant messaging applications installed on your precious Nokia N8 and taking up much more storage, now you can contact all of your friends, colleagues or family members all from one app.

As Fritz Pinguin previously stated, not available for the Nokia N8-00??? So how can it be “Nokia Instant Messenger for Nokia N8″ ??? Confused!
