Nokia N8 WebTV demonstration

Nokia N8 WebTV demonstration

WebTV is an excellent addition to any mobile phone and as you may already know, the Nokia N8 and other Symbian^3 devices will have this built-in when the phone reaches you from the Nokia warehouses. This means you will be able to watch some television and other entertainment through Wi-Fi and 3G, whilst on-the-go, wherever you are (unless your 3G connection drops of course).

The channels that come pre-installed on the Nokia N8 includes E! Entertainment, National Geographic and CNN. But wait, there’s more – you will even be able to watch other TV programs that are available on the internet, but how? Well the clever guys at Nokia have developed a way web widgets. Simply create a widget for your favourite website and/or TV stream and then you can access it from the applications menu at the touch of the button.

This will be excellent, especially if websites such as TVCatchUp.com will be compatible with the N8 device. TVCatchUp is a service available in the United Kingdom where users can watch TV live straight from their mobile device and includes many of the most popular TV channels in the UK.

But, back to the point… The Nokia N8 has been demonstrated running WebTV at the Nokia World 2010 conference. Check out the video below to see the demo, however it’s probably not the best quality.
